Vicus

Description

A white wine that reflects its terroir: a clean wine that encapsulates the aromas and scents of a new and, until now, unexplored terroir. A part of the collection of high altitude wines by Roberto Baldovin. At over 800 meters above sea level, Roberto has done what nobody has done before–producing wine in the Friulian Dolomites.

From the term ‘vico,’ whose root is connected with that of the Greek word for “house.” Vicus is first and foremost a hamlet, a village that is distinguished from the civitas not so much by its size or importance, but because it does not have an autonomous political-administrative organization; secondly, it is the complex of several houses and streets in a city, what today we would call a neighborhood.
