Mezàn

Description

Mezan is perfect for an aperitivo al fresco. A unique blend of Solaris and rare Sauvignon Kretos grapes in the collection of high altitude wines by Roberto Baldovin. At over 800 meters above sea level, Roberto has done what nobody has done before–producing wine in the Friulian Dolomites.

From the middle ages word ‘mezzano’ meaning that which is in the middle, in many cases a synonym for middle (which has the same etymology), that is, placed in the middle, intermediate between two limits, between two extreme conditions. The central point or part, equally distant from the extremes.

Tasting notes: A sunny soul that unfolds at first glance in its straw-yellow dress, embellished with amber shimmers that speak of sun and maturation. A fresh and pronounced aroma of quince, acacia blossoms, and custard with light citrus notes merges with sensations of white peach juice. An irresistible symphony of flavors captivates the palate. The initial freshness marries a vibrant mineral flavor. The full and enveloping body caresses the palate with notes of almond, peach, and custard. The perfectly balanced alcohol merges with delicate spices, yielding a lingering and characterful finish. A white wine with the soul of a red. Structured, integrated, and with great personality, Mezàn amazes with its complexity and its consistent quality over time.
Serving suggestions: Perfect with pâté and foie gras, fresh and mature cheeses. It elegantly pairs with fish and white meat dishes and enhances game.
